THE Asia Pacific Joint Group (APJG) held its virtual meet­ing on the progress reports for anti-money laundering and financing against terrorism in Myanmar yesterday.

 

Speaking at the event, the Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar explained Myanmar’s efforts for anti-money laundering financing against terrorism in line with the suggestions by the APJG, ongoing work activities even when the country faced a natural disaster, or earthquake.

 

Then, Anti-Corruption Com­mission Chairman U Sis Aye dis­cussed the commitments being carried out by Myanmar, ongoing work plans for strengthening the law, organizational framework as per the FATF recommendations, and cooperation work with inter­national organizations, including FATF and APG.

 

The Myanmar delegation also explained the work under­takings and plans in response to the questions raised by the assessors from the APJG. — MNA/KTZH
