SAC Member and Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, accompanied by Deputy Minister Maj-Gen Phyo Thant, the Permanent Secretary, and other officials, inspected the construction of temporary steel-structured buildings supervised by the ministry’s engineering team to accommodate earthquake-affected personnel and their families, as well as the living conditions in these buildings, at the ministry’s office area yesterday morning.

During the inspection, the Union minister instructed officials to promptly relocate earthquake-affected personnel and their families from temporary shelters to steel-structured buildings, ensure the installation of water supply, electricity, and sewage systems, complete the buildings following standards as quickly as possible, and prioritize proper arrangements for living, eating, and health.

The Union minister and his team inspected the relocation of staff families into the temporary buildings, reviewed the construction and ongoing progress of the buildings, and assessed the conditions of the bathrooms and toilets to ensure the provision of necessary facilities. — MNA/MKKS
