UNDER the arrangement of the Ministry of Commerce and the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI), market trucks have been selling rice, oil, salt, pulses, fish paste and various goods directly to earth­quake-affected staff housings in Nay Pyi Taw, Sagaing and Man­dalay since 30 March.

 

Yesterday marked the 28th day of continuous service, with seven trucks operating across the areas.

 

Since 30 March 2025, trucks have been visiting several loca­tions including the Yezin Univer­sity of Agriculture, Nay Pyi Taw Railway Station, the staff hous­ing of Locomotive Shed, Nurs­ing Training School, Ottarathiri Hospital Staff Housing, Padauk Housing, Gangaw Housing, resi­dential wards, an education staff housing, Department of Con­sumer Affairs office, the Min­istry of Home Affairs, Zeyathiri District General Administration Department, Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV), the Ministry of Information, Pobbathiri Town­ship’s Department of Agriculture and General Administration De­partment.

 

Sales of goods include ex­port quality sacks of rice, packs of chickpeas, fish paste, along with various types of dried fish, bottles of cooking oil and pack­ets of instant noodles. Chicken and duck eggs were also made available.

 

In a similar effort, four trucks also operated in Sagaing. Up to now, they have sold 283 bags Shwe Wah Tun rice, 4,565 viss of cooking oil and many oth­ers dried foodstuffs at affordable prices.

 

Meanwhile, four trucks are running daily in Mandalay, sell­ing 548 bags of Manawthukha rice, 50,600 viss of cooking oil, many dried foods, chicken and duck eggs, and packets of in­stant noodles. Daily sales will continue in the coming days. — MNA/KZL
