THE finals of the Yangon Region Chief Minister’s Cup U25 Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Tournament were held yesterday afternoon at the gymnasium in Aung San Stadium, Yangon Region. Patron of the Yangon Region Sports and Physical Education Committee and Chief Minister U Soe Thein, along with regional ministers, the President of the Myanmar Volleyball Federation, officials from the Myanmar Volleyball Subcommittee, and sports enthusiasts, attended the event.
In the men’s final, Ahlon District defeated Botahtaung District two games to one. In the women’s final, the Insein District team defeated the Ahlon District team by three games.
At the closing ceremony, the Insein District team, which secured first place in the women’s competition, and the Ahlon District team, that won the men’s title, were presented with individual medals, cash prizes, and trophies by the Chairman of the Yangon Region Sports and Physical Education Committee and Chief Minister U Soe Thein.
The tournament was held from 29 April to 5 May and featured 14 men’s teams and 14 women’s teams. — Arkar Lin/MKKS
