FOLLOWING the recent Man­dalay earthquake, Brazil has do­nated a consignment of humani­tarian aid to support Myanmar’s recovery efforts. The shipment includes 13 boxes containing medical supplies, nutritious dried food, and water purifiers, weighing 5,820 kilogrammes. The aid was transported by a Korean Air Airbus flight, which arrived at Yangon International Airport at 7:30 pm on 5 May.

 

The donated items were handed over by Mr Gustavo Ro­cha de Menezes, Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil and officials yesterday morning. The donation was accepted by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, regional ministers, officials from the Ministry of For­eign Affairs, the Department of Public Health under the Ministry of Health, and the Department of Disaster Management under the

 

Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement.
