ARMOURS from four ages have been re-created now, said Myat Thinga Nge from Myat Taw Win traditional outfit making service.

There is attention to the creation of traditional outfits in Myanmar’s ancient stories, and armours used in the Bagan era, Pyu era, Toungoo era, and Inwa era will be remade in line with the history of Myanmar, she said.

“Lately, we have offers from photographers and models for making ancient outfits, that is why we have a project to remake armour over the ages. Now, we have created armour in the early Konbaung era, and the creation of armours in the Bagan, Pyu, Toungoo and Inwa eras will be continued,” she said.

Not the whole suit, armour that kings wore in battles and hunting, will be created, she added. At present, the wearing style of Sudhanu, prince of the Ayutthaya kingdom and archer in Myanmar mythical stories, when he went on hunting, has been recreated, she said. — MT/ZS
