THE National Disaster Manage­ment Committee has allocated six modular offices and 156 mod­ular houses to the Ministry of Transport and Communications for Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.

 

So far, the ministry has installed four modular offices and 34 modular houses. Efforts are underway to complete in­stallation of remaining modular offices and houses as quickly as possible.

 

Member of the State Admin­istration Council Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo yesterday morning inspected construc­tion sites of modular houses for earthquake-affected staff fam­ilies allocated by the National Disaster Management Commit­tee for Nay Pyi Taw Council Area in the plots of Myanma Railways and the Road Transport Admin­istration Department.

 

He also inspected Modu­lar House Camp 1 located near mechanical and electrical staff houses, north of Nay Pyi Taw Railway Station in Pobbathiri Township, where the manag­ing director of Myanma Rail­ways reported on location of the camp, lay-out plans, number of modular houses allocated by the National Disaster Manage­ment Committee, formation of the engineering teams to build modular houses, and progress of installation.

 

The Union Minister inspect­ed sinking a tube-well and in­stallation of modular houses. He instructed officials to fulfill the needs of staff families, ar­range the entrance and exit of residents and vehicles and em­phasize worksite safety.

 

At the Camp 2, south of the Nay Pyi Taw Railway Station, the Union Minister heard re­ports by the managing direc­tor of Myanma Railways on the layout plans for settlement of staff families from the Union Minister’s Office and other de­partments including those from MR, supply of electricity and water, and installation of mod­ular houses.

 

After hearing the reports, the Union Minister urged offi­cials to manage proper flow of water in drains, entrance and exit roads and fencing the camp.

 

On arrival at the modular house camp at the Road Trans­port Administration Depart­ment in Ywataw of Pobbathiri Township, the Union Minister looked into installation of mod­ular houses, locations of tanks and latrines and left instructions to officials on supply of electric­ity and water for soonest settle­ment of staff families. — MNA/ TTA
