A seasonal earthstar mushroom has been now available in the market and being a popular food, the price has been high at the beginning of the season, according to sellers.
The price is over K100,000 a viss.
“This is the beginning of the season, so earthstar mushrooms are very young and they can give the softest and sweetest taste. The earthstar mushroom is a popular food so the price is K10,000 above 10 tical, at present. It can be available just for a season throughout the year, so people who like it buy despite the price is good,” said a seller.
However, the price will drop when the production becomes abundant, she said. The seasonal earthstar mushroom has many health benefits such as vitamins, potassium, protein, fibre and iron, and it can help improve the bone and muscle health. — MT/ZS
