THE Myanmar Coffee Association has announced that samples can be sent for the Eighth Myanmar Coffee Cupping Competition to be held in PyinOoLwin (Local Round) and the United States (International Round) in June.

 

Each sample will cost K 200,000 and there is no limit to the number of entries.

 

With a stock of at least 200 kg of export quality coffee beans, samples must be representative, weigh 2 kg, have a filter size of 15 or higher, have been sorted out, and have a moisture content between 10-12 per cent. The sample bags must include the name of the producer/ farmer, coffee variety, region of origin, elevation, production method (e.g., wet, dry, fully washed, natural dry, etc.), pro­duction quantity (lot size) and contact phone or email.

 

The judges will be five foreigners and five locals, and five prizes will be awarded for Fully Wash Process, five prizes for Natural dry process, and three prizes for Other Categories Pro­cess.
