THE graduation of the AGTI Diploma Course 18 and job appointment let­ter handover ceremony of the Nationalities Youth Re­source Development De­gree College (Sagaing) in Ohntaw village of Sagaing, Sagaing Region, took place yesterday at the convoca­tion hall of the Degree College.

 

Speaking at the event, State Administration Council Member Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae said the degree college in Sagaing has produced 2,538 degree holders to date: 560 arts degrees, 981 science de­grees, 139 BTech and 858 AGTI diplomas. Moreover, there are also 111 MA, 216 MSc, 32 PhD, 625 BE, 34 ME and 207 BTech.

 

He also encouraged the graduates to value and preserve the literature, tradition and cultures of local ethnic people while serving duties in different border regions.

 

The Union minister presented awards to the outstanding students, and the representatives of six ministries presented job appointment letters to 93 students.

 

The Union minister cordially met the attend­ees, graduates and their families, and posed for doc­umentary photo with them.

 

At noon, the Union minister met the principal, vice-principal, professors and department heads at the meeting hall, and discussed the construc­tion-related matters to be conducted with the 2025- 2026 budget.

 

He observed the de­gree college compound and attended the din­ner event on the same evening. He watched en­tertainment programmes with students and pre­sented cash prizes and a flower basket to the stu­dents. — MAN/KTZH
