Nay Pyi Taw, 11 March

A fire broke out and destroyed two houses in Ottarathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw yesterday. 

The fire started from an ember left at the house of Daw Chit, of Shwenatha Ward-8, Ottarathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw and spread to the house of U Maung Pu. Ottarathiri Township Administrator U Nyi Nyi Aung, police members led by Police Inspector Yee Win Htun from Taungnyo Police Station and firemen from Ottarathiri Township Fire Services Department rushed the scene. The flame was successfully controlled at 4 pm, rendering K 400,000 in loss.

No injuries were reported. The local police outpost has opened a case against the house owner over his negligence of fire.— Aung Ko (IPRD)
