Following days of continuous rainfall in the upper regions of Kachin State and the town of Myitkyina, the water level of the Ayeyarwady River had risen above the danger level. However, as of 9:30 a.m. on 3 June, the level has dropped to 1,011 centimeters, according to the State Meteorological and Hydrological Department.
Previously, the river’s water level in Myitkyina stood at 1,200 centimeters. On the morning of 2 June, it rose above the danger threshold and reached 1,205 centimeters, causing flooding in low-lying areas of the city. The subsequent drop to 1,011 centimeters by the morning of 3 June marks a significant decrease.— District IPRD
