A total of 86,216 foreigners visited Nepal in May, down 4.4 percent year-on-year, the Nepal Tourism Board said on Monday.

The South Asian country welcomed more tourists from China and the United States, but saw a sharp decline in the number of Indians, in May, the board noted.

Only 28,160 Indians visited Nepal in the past month, as against 38,288 in May 2024.

From January to May 2025, Nepal had a total of 501,264 foreign arrivals, according to the board.
