THE powerful earthquake that struck Mandalay on 28 March 2025 caused significant damage in the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, Sagaing Region, Mandalay Region, Magway Region, Shan State, and Bago Region. In response, both local and international donors have provided humanitarian aid, including medical supplies and other relief items, for those affected. The ongoing distribution and support efforts are documented in weekly updates.

An update released on 27 May 2025 covered the situation from 20 to 27 May. For the latest week, from 28 May to 3 June, additional relief materials donated by Sri Lanka — food items, personal and household goods, electrical appliances, and medical supplies – have been received. The medical items were handed over to the Healthcare Work Committee under the Ministry of Health, while the remaining goods were distributed proportionally based on the number of affected individuals in Nay Pyi Taw, Sagaing Region, Mandalay Region, and Shan State.

From 28 March to the present, the total volume of distributed donations has reached approximately 2,427 tonnes, delivered by 64 trucks to Mandalay Region, 32 trucks to Sagaing Region, and 12 trucks to Shan State (South). — MNA/MKKS
