A fire broke out at Plot-4 on Hnin Si Road in Industrial Zone-4, Dagon Myothit (Seikkan) Township, Yangon Region, at 1:45 p.m. yesterday.

Led by Township Fire Services Department Chief U Nyi Nyi Htun, 44 firefighters and 32 auxiliary personnel responded with five fire engines and three water tankers. The fire was brought under control by 2:11 p.m. and fully extinguished by 2:38 p.m.

The blaze is believed to have started from a 100-watt light bulb placed on a plastic chair, which overheated after being left on for an extended period. The fire destroyed one house, 20 bags of rice, and five plastic chairs. — Phyo Sandar (IPRD)
