The Township Forest Department organized a township-level collective tree planting ceremony at 8:00 a.m. today in the compound of Kew Thit Basic Education Middle School in Thayarawaddy Township, Bago Region. The event aimed to raise public awareness of the importance of trees, while promoting a greener environment, better weather, shade, and aesthetic benefits.
To commence the ceremony, Chairman of the Township Administration Body, U San Ho, formally handed over saplings to departmental officials and the headmaster of Kew Thit Basic Education Middle School.
Following the opening, around 150 participants—including the Chairman, departmental officials, staff from the Forest Department, the headmaster, teachers, and students—joined in planting a total of 300 trees. The species planted included teak, pyinkado, padauk, manjanshya, and seinpan.—IPRD
