Illegal raw jades weighing 31 viss were seized on Shwebo-Myitkyina road in Indaw Township, Katha District, Sagaing Region yesterday.

Police members led by Police Sub-Inspector Myo Thet Naing from Nabar Police Station and witnesses searched a vehicle driven by Nay Win Maw with Kyaw Naing, Maung Htwe and Pyae Phyo Zaw onboard and seized various kinds of 630 raw jades weighing 31 viss.

The local police station has filed charges against Nay Win Maw and Kyaw Naing of Pyone-U village, Maung Htwe of Latpangyi village, Wetlet Township, Pyae Phyo Zaw of Nabee village, Myinmu Township under Section-42 (a) of the Myanmar Gems Law.—Lu Aung (Katha)
