Mongphyat, 12 March
Three people were injured after a light truck crashed into a brick wall near mileposts 712 and 713 on the Mongphyat-Tachilek Road in Mongphyat Township, Eastern Shan State on 11 March.
The traffic accident occurred at about 5 p.m. when a mini-truck smashed into a brick wall belonging to a man named U Hla In, 52 years old from Yankham Village and overturned after the driver lost control of the car. The vehicle was heading to Tachilek from Mongphyat and was driven by a man identified as Kenghonh. Three people aboard were hurt and one of them was seriously injured in the incident.
The injured people have been transferred to a public hospital in Mongphyat. The driver is being questioned over reckless driving by the local people station.—IPRD
