A group of local authorities made a field trip to Nanphyu Village, Mawlaik Township in Sagaing Region to inspect land reclamation for landless people on 11 March.

           

Deputy Commissioner U Nyi Nyi Lwin together with regional lawmaker U Bo Thein, Township Administrator U Kyaw Soe and departmental officials looked into progress of reclaiming 180 acres of pristine and virgin lands in Nanphyu Village, Mawlaik Township. The Agricultural Mechanization Department is reclaiming 180 acres of pristine and virgin lands by spending Ks. 124.7 million allotted by the regional government’s fund.

           

Tech Friends Co Ltd, a tender winning company has started land reclamation task since 6 March and about 16 acres of land has already been reclaimed, said U Aung Kyaw Tin, In-charge from the project. Upon completion of the project, the newly-reclaimed lands will be allocated to landless people from Taunggon and Nanphyu Villages.—Mawlaik Tharlay
