Essential food items were sold at fair prices to local residents this morning at two locations in Maubin Township, Ayeyarwady Region: in front of the local fire station in Ward 3 and in front of Toe Shwewa Hall in Ward 4.
The sale was organized under the supervision of the District and Township Price Stabilization Committee, in coordination with the General Administration Department, Consumer Affairs Department, Livestock and Veterinary Department, Development Committee, Rice Merchants Association, Edible Oil Dealers' Association, and local poultry farmers.
Prices for the items included K300 per egg, K2,000 per basket of rice, and K6,550 per bottle of palm oil. These essential foodstuffs will continue to be available to residents at subsidized prices until 31 August.—Aung Myin Myat (IPRD)
