DEPUTY Minister for Home Affairs Maj-Gen Aung Kyaw Kyaw, who is secretary of the Central Committee on the Su­pervision of Deportation and Transfer of Detained Foreign­ers for Illegal Entry into Myan­mar, Deputy Director-General Mr Chen Wen Feng of Crim­inal Investigation Bureau of China and Pol Col Chinakorn Atsawaphum of Tak Province Immigration inspected the detention and personal data collection processes of illegal entrants to Shwe Kokko, KK Park and Kyaukkhet areas in Myawady yesterday morning.

They held a coordination meeting in Myawady, discuss­ing the preventive system for telecom fraud and further co­operation in the repatriation of those involved in telecom fraud to their respective countries.

 

Between 30 January and 7 July 2025, a total of 9,198 un­documented immigrants were identified and detained in My­anmar. Of this number, 8,987 individuals have already been deported through Thailand to their respective countries, while arrangements are being made to deport 211 remaining individuals. These individuals are currently under detention while awaiting repatriation.

 

The government is ac­tively exposing telecom fraud and cracking down on online gambling by cooperating with international organizations, including the neighbouring countries. — MNA/KTZH
