A total of 53 villages out of 122 in Singu Township, Pyin Oo Lwin District, Mandalay Region are now being supplied with electricity, accounting for 43.4 percent.
A project to distribute electricity to five villages in Singu Township will be undertaken after monsoon season, said Mandalay Region Chief Minister at the meeting between State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and local residents in Nyaungbin tour.
The construction of 11 KV power line from Htonegyi village to Nyaungbin and Naypugone village, 200 KV in Nyaungbin, 200 KV in Naypygone, 100 KV in Hnaksa village, 200 KV in Shwedon village, another 200 KV in Shwegonetine village, five transformers and 720 feet power line were undertaken at a cost of K 250 million. Now, the five villages are enjoying electricity starting from 10 March.
Then, officials from the Township Electricity Department shared knowledge on electric safety and disseminated pamphlets.
