An opening ceremony of a diesel engine repairing course jointly organized by Pathein Township Rural Development Department and Government Technical Institute took place at the hall of Pathein Government Technical Institute, Pathein, Ayeyarwady Region this morning with an opening remark by Ayeyarwady Region MP U Aung Thu Htwe.

Deputy Director of Ayeyarwady Region Rural Development Department Daw Khing Shwe War gave a speech about the course and Principal of Pathein Government Technical Institute U Aye Minn Htun explained about the lessons of diesel mechanic.

The course was attended by 30 trainees from Pathein Township from 12 to 31 March. The course aims to promote the job opportunities and income generation for the locals after which the rural development department links the trainees to the entrepreneurs.

The Pathein Rural Development Department produced a total of 700 trainees including 60 carpenters and 20 masons in 2015-2016 facial year, 50 learners from mobile school computer course in 2016-2017 facial year, 15 tyros from agriculture course in 2017-2018 facial year and 25 trainees from computer course and 30 people from tailoring course in 2018-2019 facial year.-Min Tun Zaw
