The 2019 World Consumer Rights Day was marked under the motto “Trusted Smart Products” at the hall of the Department of Consumer Affairs this morning.
First, chairman of Kayin State Consumer Dispute Settlement Bodies and state minister for Planning, Finance and Development U Than Naing clarified the purpose of the event, adding that a new consumer protection law will be in force.

The public come to know rights and remedies of a consumer due to the public awareness and consumer dispute settlement. Then, an official from the Department of Consumer Affairs explained the salient points about World Consumer Rights Day.
Also present on the occasion were state minister U Than Naing, members of Consumer Protection Committee, members of Food and Drugs Administration and staff from the Department of Consumer Affairs.
