Talks to mark World Consumers Day were held at Sinlet Yadana hall, Myoma Ward, Moehnyin, Kachin State yesterday.

Also present on the occasion were U Myint Thaug, Manager of Mohnyin Distric Agricultural Research Department, Dr Nyunt Soe, Principal of Mohnyin Degree College, Daw Nan Thwin, deputy staff officer of District Consumer Department, U Ko Ko Naing, staff officer of Township Cooperative Department, departmental officials, NGOs and locals totaling some 100.

At the talks, U Myint Thaung clarified about the purpose of the talks while U La Ring, head of Lweyanbum People Development Body in Mohnyin District briefed on the consumer protection. Next, Daw Nan Thwin answered queries raised by those present on the occasion. This was followed by a congratulation speech by U Zaw Lwin of Township Peasant Society and concluded the event.—Lu Aung (Katha)
