Over 50 youths participated in the fourth Animation Workshop sponsored by Japan Foundation, with the assistance of the Ministry of Information, at the Film Development Centre in Bahan Township, Yangon from 13 to 17 March.
At the workshop, which saw the number of trainees larger than any of its predecessors, three Japanese instructors gave lessons in three sections. Toshika Suwada taught animation of traditional stories; Ikuko Iwasuki, stop motion animation and self-creation; and Mirai Mizue and Dr San San Oo, creation of artistic and colourful animation for children.
Creations of the trainees – Stop Motion (Sunflower), Animation Cutout (Traditional story) and Abstract Animation (Ani Meditation) – were shown at the final day of the workshop.
Managing Director Daw May Lin of Huion Myanmar (DigitLand) presented a gift to Ma Zuu Htaik, who took part in the workshop for three years in a row.
