The 56th Gem Emporium continued its seventh day at the Mani Yadana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
Jade lot numbers 2401 to 3600 were put up for sale through an open tender system, out of which 738 jade lots were sold for Euro 101.472 million.
Jade lot numbers 1201 to 2400 were also put up for sale the day before and sold 858 lots for Euro 78.825 million.
This brings the total number of jade lots sold so far to 2,691 and amounts to Euro 226.802 million.
The emporium will continue to 20 March and will display jade lot numbers 3601 to 4800 on 18 March, numbers 4801 to 6000 on 19 March, and numbers 6001 to 6973 on 20 March.
The emporium received a visit from the Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, U Oh Win, and Deputy Minister Dr. Ye Myint Swe in the afternoon.
2,912 overseas gem merchants and 1,649 domestic gem merchants have registered for the gem emporium and many visited yesterday.
