Union Minister for Information Dr Pe Myint, who was in Putao, Kachin State, inspected the Putao District and Machanbaw Township Information and Public Relations Department offices yesterday.

Accompanied by Director-General of IPRD U Ye Naing, Union Minister Dr Pe Myint visited Machanbaw Township IPRD Office/Library, and observed the library functions, a mini museum and preparations for wallpaper display. He spoke of the need to carry out effective services for sharing information and knowledge with the locals.

In the evening, the Union Minister arrived at the Putao District IPRD Office/Library, and inspected the library and children’s reading corner, a mini museum and preparations for wallpaper display.

As IPRD and donors presented over 4,200 books to Putao District at the Children’s Literary Festival held in Putao, the Union Minister stressed the need to distribute the books to Putao, Machnabaw, Nogmon, Sunprabum, Khaunglanphu and Pannandin towns in the district through coordination with local administrators.
