Three people were killed and five others injured in a fire at a hand-powered oil well in Pauk Township, Magway Region, the Ministry of Home Affairs reported.
The incident occurred on 17 March when a group of workers dug a hand- powered oil well at an illegal plot belonging to a man named Aung Htet Min, 33 years old from Myaing Township. The fire broke out at around 10 p.m. but was completely put out about 2 hours later. Three men died on the spot in the fire and five men received serious burn injuries.
The injured people have been transferred to the Mandalay General Hospital via a nearby public hospital. An investigation into the case is ongoing by the local police station.—MOHA
