A ceremony to commemorate the fifth Myanmar indigenous medicine practitioners’ day was held at the meeting hall of Sittway township indigenous medicine hospital in Rakhine state this morning.
At the event, Daw Thein Thein Oo, head of the State Indigenous Medicine Department, who is also the secretary of the State Traditional Medicine Practitioners Association read out the message sent by the chairman of Myanmar Indigenous Medicine Practitioners Association (Central).
Today March 20 is the full-moon day of the month of Tabaung in Myanmar lunar calendar. It is believed that on this day all celestial bodies (the sun, the moon, the stars etc) are altogether present in the sky, fostering an auspicious day.
For that reason, the full-moon day of the month of Tabaung in Myanmar calendar was chosen as the indigenous medicine practitioners day, it is leant.--- Tin Tun ( IPRD)
