THE passing-out parade of the Tatmadaw (Navy) Junior Officer (Management) Course 85, the Tatmadaw (Navy) Junior Officer (Engineering) Course 59, and the Tatmadaw (Navy) Female Junior Officer Course 10 was held at the Naval Training Command Headquarters in Thanlyin yesterday.
On behalf of the State Security and Peace Commission Chairman, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Zeya Kyaw Htin Htein Win delivered a speech on the occasion.
The Commander-in-Chief (Navy) first took the salute of the graduate company and companies of honour and inspected these companies.
He then presented the awards to the outstanding officer trainees of the courses.
In his speech, the Admiral said the Naval Training Command was able to train and produce a new generation of junior officers who will serve not only Tatmadaw (Navy) but also the country and Tatmadaw. During the training period, in addition to lectures, ship-based practical training (afloat training) was conducted in conjunction with naval vessels. Trainees were also assigned to naval ships travelling abroad and participated in maritime exercises, enabling them to carry out hands-on sea training.
He continued that it is required to jointly undertake maritime operations, riverine operations, and transportation duties, and that only by acquiring a solid fundamental understanding of naval tactics will they be able to carry out these responsibilities successfully. Therefore, a basic naval tactics course was opened. The naval knowledge imparted so far represents only the basic foundation for beginning a career as a naval officer, and in line with the concept of “long life learning,” it is especially necessary to continue studying and learning throughout the entire life of naval officers.
He mentioned the role of leadership, successful establishment of various types of naval vessels, naval training for female officers and other ranks to be fit and strong like the male ones, joint operations with Tatmadaw (Army) and Tatmadaw (Air), military operations and transport to Rakhine State and along Ayeyawady and Chindwin rivers.
He also urged the junior naval officers to follow the orders and instructions.
The Admiral left the parade ground after taking the salute of the graduate company and other companies of honour. The Admiral met with outstanding graduate officers and their parents and spoke words of honour.
In the evening, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Htein Win and his wife, senior military officers and their wives, distinguished guests, graduate officers and their parents attended the graduation dinner.
