UNION Minister for Defence General Maung Maung Aye re­ceived Russian Deputy Defence Minister Mr Vasilii Sergeevich Osmakov in Nay Pyi Taw yes­terday.

They exchanged views on the enhancement of defence cooperation between the two ministries and further coopera­tion in military tactics, training and exercises between the two Tatmadaws.

After the meeting, Deputy Minister Maj-Gen Aung Myo Thant and Mr Vasilii Sergeevich Osmakov signed a military coop­eration programme between the two defence ministries.

Also present at the meeting were the deputy minister and relevant officials. — MNA/KTZH
