The 51st anniversary of Kanan traditional festival was celebrated this morning at Makyigon Village, Bamauk Township, Katha district, Sagaing Region.

Also present on the occasion were Sagaing Region Chin Ethnic Affairs minister U LaL Thaung Thang, ,  the Region Shan Ethnic Affairs minister Daw Nan Hmway Hmway Khin , Dr Win Myat Thi from Department of Ethnic Rights, Pyithu Hluttaw Representatives, the deputy commissioner and staff of the District General Administration Department, Departmental officials from the Township, heads of Kanan and Kadu ethnic groups and invited guests. 

Next, traditional dances of Kanan, Kadu, and Shan ethnic groups were staged at the event which runs till 21 March.—Ko Naing (Kanan)
