STATE Security and Peace Com­mission Member and Union Min­ister for Border Affairs and for Ethnic Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae met cabinet members of the Chin State government and depart­mental staff at the meeting hall of the General Administrative Department of the Chin State government in Haka Township yesterday.

 

Speaking at the occasion, the Union minister said it has been observed that civil servants serv­ing in Chin State face certain chal­lenges compared to those serving in other regions and states. The government staff have a respon­sibility to carry out their duties professionally. The Civil Service Personnel Law states that civil servants must be free from par­ty politics. He added that party politics and national politics are different -party politics serve the interests of a particular political party, whereas national politics generally involves safeguarding Our Three Main National Causes. Regardless of which government assumes office, the civil servants are accountable to the State and must perform their duties by co­operating with their respective ministries, referencing the law and rules enacted by the govern­ment.

 

Chin State Chief Minister Dr Wong Hsun Thang and township department heads briefed the re­gional development programmes.
