THE hand over ceremony of 1,620 tonnes of rice donated by the Republic of Korea under the ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve-APTERR Pro­gramme-3 (2025) to suport the earthquake-affected people from Mandalay Region through the Department of Agriculture took place at the regional Agriculture Department in Chanmyathazi Township yesterday morning.

 

Mandalay Region Chief Min­ister U Myo Aung spoke on the occasion while the general man­ager of APTERR Secretariat and the official from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Myan­mar explained the purpose of donations.

 

The Deputy Director-Gener­al of the Department of Agricul­ture handed over 1,620 tonnes of rice donated by Korea under the APTERR programme to the re­gional chief minister. The general manager of APTERR Secretariat and the official of Korean Embas­sy to Myanmar presented rice to earthquake-affected people.

 

The chief minister of the region presented certificates of appreciation to the general manager of APTERR Secretariat and an official from the Korean Embasy. An earthquake-affected civilian spoke words of thanks. It was reported that 1,620 tonnes of donated rice will be distribut­ed to districts and townships in Mandalay Region systematically. — MNA/TTA
