MATCHDAY 19 first-day fixtures of the 2025-2026 Myanmar National League were held on 24 February.
At the Thuwunna Youth Training Centre, Yadanabon FC defeated Hanthawady United 1–0. The victory marked a return to winning form for Yadanabon FC, who had struggled in the second round, while Hanthawady United’s hopes of securing third place diminished.
Yadanabon FC fielded most of their key players, including Pyay Moe and Soe Min Oo. Hanthawady United also started a near full-strength line-up featuring Yan Naing Aung, Maung Maung Soe, Than Toe Aung, Win Moe Kyaw, and Bo Bo Aung. Both sides, composed of domestic players, pressed hard for the win. The decisive goal came in 36 minutes when defender Hein Zaw Naing scored the only goal of the match. Hanthawady United pushed for an equalizer but were unable to break through.
At the Thihadipa Stadium, Dagon Star United edged Rakhine United 1-0. The winning goal was scored by Swam Hlaman in 76 minutes, strengthening Dagon Star United’s position in the race for third place.
Matchday 19 second-day fixtures will continue on 25 February, with ISPE taking on Shan United at the Thuwunna Youth Training Centre, and Maha United facing Yangon United at Thihadipa Stadium. — Shine Htet Zaw/KZL
