Tatmadaw will remain steadfast regardless of changes in political administrations and will continue its efforts to help strengthen the multiparty democratic system aspired to by the people.

 

Acting President of the Repub­lic of the Union of Myanmar and State Security and Peace Commission Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a del­egation led by Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) Air Chief Marshal Sakesan Kantha at Zeyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morn­ing.

 

 

At the meeting, they discussed pro­motion and enhancement of friendship and relations between the two countries and two armed forces, exchange of good­will visits between the two armed forces and air forces, and continuation of coop­eration.

 

They also exchanged views on the successful holding of the multiparty dem­ocratic general election in Myanmar, in which people enthusiastically cast ballots without objection, and on plans to convene the Hluttaw in the near future.

 

Their discussions emphasized that regardless of changes in political govern­ments, Tatmadaw remains unchanged and, as such, has been undertaking ef­forts to help strengthen the multiparty democratic system desired by the people.

 

Moreover, they cordially discussed cooperation in training between the two armed forces and plans to promote friend­ly relations and cooperation further be­tween the two countries.

 

After the meeting, the Senior Gen­eral and the Thai Air Chief Marshal ex­changed commemorative gifts and had documentary photos taken together with the attendees.

Also, present at the meeting were Commission Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Commander-in-Chief (Air) Gener­al Tun Aung, and senior Tatmadaw of­ficers from the Office of the Command­er-in-Chief. The Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Air Force was accom­panied by senior military officers from the Royal Thai Armed Forces and the Military Attaché (Air Force) of Thailand to Myanmar. — MNA/TTA
