A delegation led by Chan­thavong, Chairman of the Lao-Myanmar Friendship Association (LMFA), arrived in Myanmar from Laos by air yesterday to hold discussions on matters relating to bilateral friendship.

 

They were welcomed at the airport by the Lao Am­bassador to Myanmar and members of the Myanmar-Lao friendship associations.

 

The delegation, headed by the chairman of the Lao-My­anmar Friendship Association, comprises representatives from various sectors. It aims to promote closer cooperation in the fields of business, culture and youth affairs. During the visit, the delegation will travel to Nay Pyi Taw to meet and hold discussions with relevant ministries.

 

Regarding the visit, the chairman of the Lao-Myan­mar Friendship Association expressed his pleasure at visiting Myanmar, which he described as a model among Buddhist countries in the re­gion for the flourishing of the Buddha’s teachings. He also stated that he was eager to enhance connectivity and co­operation with Myanmar as a good neighbouring country. — MNA/KNN
