ETHNIC literature and cultural associations in Yangon Region held a friendship gathering at the Union National Races Village in Thakayta Township on 7 March. The event saw Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Deputy Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Zaw Aye Maung, regional ministers and representatives of various ethnic groups.
The ceremony featured traditional songs and dances performed by ethnic cultural troupes including Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Shan, Mon, Rakhine, Bamar and others. Officials also presented awards to the performers and greeted attendees during the event. — Zaw Htet Ko (IPRD)/ KZL
