MYANMAR had negotiations with the Thai authorities on the promotion of bilateral co­operation in labour affairs to ensure workplace safety and health benefits, according to the Labour Attaché Office.

 

The delegation led by the Labour Attaché from the Bangkok office met the direc­tor general from the Thailand Department of Labour Protec­tion and Welfare on 9 March to strengthen the cooperation in labour affairs between the two countries.

 

The meeting highlighted the protection of fundamental rights, workplace safety and health benefits of Myanmar migrant workers, as well as exchanging experience in labour management and in­formation based on the friend­ship relation between the two countries to harmonize the bilateral cooperation in labour affairs.

 

Thailand also affirmed to emphasize workplace safety and the welfare of all workers without discrimination under the law. — MT/ZS
