Myingyan, March 20

A fire broke out in Ward No. 13 of Myingyan, Mandalay Region, at about 3:30 a.m. today due to an overheated transformer.

The incident occurred when a transformer connected to a refrigerator in a two-storey house with a corrugated iron roof and wooden flooring, owned by Daw Hnin Oo Swe, overheated and caught fire. The flames spread to a nearby wall, destroying six houses and the upper floor of another house.
