Kyaukse, March 26
The Township Irrigation and Water Utilization Management Department is supplying irrigation water to support the cultivation target of 52,715 acres of summer crops in Kyaukse Township, Mandalay Region.
For the current season, the township has planned to cultivate 44,206 acres of summer sesame and 3,296 acres of pre-monsoon green gram across village tracts within the Sama Agricultural Technology Training Center area. Cultivation activities are underway in several village tracts, including Dandaing, Yanbeglo, Petawgyi, Bonkwin, Sinkun, and Pankhwar, where both summer sesame and pre-monsoon green gram are being planted in designated acreages.
To help achieve target yields, officials from the Township Agriculture Department are conducting field inspections and providing farmers with technical guidance, including training on the use of the large-frame cultivation system.—Thet Maung (Kyaukse)
