IN honour of the 81st anniversary of Armed Forces Day, which fell on 27 March, posters featuring valiant and patriotic members of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, and Air Force) have been placed at the traffic lights at Pinlaung Junction and near the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) in Nay Pyi Taw.

Similarly, along the road from Pinlaung Junction to the parade ground, Tatmadaw slogans are displayed in both Myanmar and English, while the grand arch at the entrance to the parade ground presents a magnificent display.

At the entrance to the Tatmadaw parade ground and along both sides of the road, truss beams, light boxes, lighting poles, LED strip lights, rain lights, uplights, programmed LED displays, and banners have been installed. In addition, the national flag and the Tatmadaw flags, lighting effects, and trees facing the dais of taking salute have been adorned with handmade lights. The two stars representing the Tatmadaw flag beneath the statues of the Three Kings are also decorated with LED strip lights.

Furthermore, in honour of the 81st Armed Forces Day in 2026, Tatmadaw Park, located opposite the Nay Pyi Taw Military Parade Ground, has been illuminated with decorative lights and the national flag of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. The 81st anniversary commemorative emblem, alongside scale models of Tatmadaw vehicles, ships, and aircraft, is on display. The park is also filled with small fibre statues of Tatmadaw members, decorated with flowers and colourful lights. Consequently, the site was crowded with visitors on the third day of the display.

Various regions and states across the country have also been illuminated with colourful lights and festive decorations in honour of the 81st anniversary. — MNA/MKKS
