THE Ministry of Health has announced that four major hospitals in Yangon Region have made preparations to provide healthcare services to patients suffering from heat-related illnesses.
As the country enters the hot summer, preparations are underway to ensure necessary medical care is available for the public at government hospitals. In Yangon Region, these four sites include the Yangon Eastern Hospital, the Yangon Western Hospital, Hlinethaya Hospital and Thanlyin Hospital.
Furthermore, the ministry is intensifying its efforts to prevent and treat heat-related health issues through several key initiatives: stockpiling supplies, clinical training, and capacity building.
Similar preparatory measures are being scaled up in other regions experiencing high temperatures, including Magway Region, Bago Region, Mandalay Region, Yangon Region and Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory. The ministry continues to accelerate its prevention and treatment protocols promptly to address health risks associated with extreme heat. — MT/ZN
