THE China Foundation for Rural Development (CFRD) and the China Merchants Foundation jointly held a handover ceremony for social relief materials for earthquake-affected schools in Myanmar on the morning of 28 April at Basic Education Post-Primary School in Yekkansin Hill in Lewe Township, Nay Pyi Taw.

Dr Aye Aye San, Director of the Planning and Statistics Division of the Department of Basic Education, Mr Zhang Weikang, Deputy General Manager of Sinotrans (Myanmar) Logistics Co Ltd, and Ms Lin Yuan, Director of the China Foundation for Rural Development (Myanmar Office), delivered speeches at the ceremony.

Desks and chairs, as well as water purifiers, were donated to five schools in Ottarathiri and Pubbathiri townships. Daw Hla Soe Nwe, Headmistress of Yakkansin Hill Basic Education Post-primary School in Lewe, delivered a speech of gratitude. — Bala/MKKS
