THE Yangon Region Public Health and Medical Services Department will expand the number of urban health centres in Yangon Region to 60 as part of a seven-point public healthcare programme to be implemented within 100 days.
The healthcare programme will mainly focus on maternal care services, vaccination programmes and prevention of non-communicable diseases, according to officials.
Authorities also said the 100-day healthcare plan will include surgeries for children with cleft lip and palate, ear and nose conditions, while cataract patients will receive continuous treatment through cooperation between international eye specialists and charity hospitals.
Officials stated that the programme is aimed at improving access to healthcare services and strengthening public health support across Yangon Region. — ASH/KZL
