The first Premium Cinema in Myanmar was opened by JCGV at Level-1 of Junction Square Shopping Centre in Yangon yesterday.

The Premium Cinema promises high-definition video and audio experiences that meet international standard. The cinema will play domestic and foreign films, four times a day, from 10am to 6:30pm and will play one extra time slot on Fridays and weekends.

The cinema boasts 32 motorized recliner luxury leather seats and have call buttons installed for special services.

“JCGV continuously upgrades its facilities and services, including ticket purchase experiences, for its customers,” said JCGV CEO Daw Mi Mi Khine.

She said a New Concept Cinema will also be opened at Junction City within this year, in addition to two new cinemas in both Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw.

Director-General U Ye Naing of the Information and Public Relations Department delivered the opening speech and Daw Mi Mi Khine explained the reasons for opening the Premium Cinema.
Next, the IPRD Director-General, JCGV CEO, CFO Ryu Seong Soo, and officials cut ribbons to formally open the cinema, took a documentary photograph together, and experienced a sample screening in the cinema first-hand.

The Ministry of Information is planning to help open more cinemas in other states and regions. Myanmar currently has 126 cinemas nationwide. —Min Thit (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
