THE Tatkon Township Rural Development Department under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development disbursed the second batch of the Rural Business Fund (RBF) project loans to local farmers for chilli cultivation at Ywayhsu Village in Tatkon Township, Nay Pyi Taw, on 19 May.
The project aims to provide necessary capital for chilli farmers and encourage them to operate livelihood businesses through a cluster/group system. During the event, Tatkon Township Rural Development Department Head U Zaw Min Tun explained the core objectives of the RBF project loan disbursement.
Subsequently, project officers and staff clarified the interest rates, loan repayment periods, and rules. Afterwards, the Township Head directly distributed the RBF loans to four livelihood groups that will cultivate chilli under the group system – namely, Yaung Ni Oo, La Wun Thit, Nay Chi Thit, and Shwe La Tha groups. Each group received K7.5 million, with the total disbursement amounting to K30 million at a low-interest rate. — Karyan (Rural)
