COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo, accompanied by his wife Daw Nilar, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Htein Win and his wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) Lt-Gen Tun Win and his wife, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Command­er-in-Chief and their wives, the commander of the Eastern Command, and officials, yes­terday morning inspected the progress in construction of Ad­vanced War Veterans’ Housing (Ayethaya) in Ayethaya, Shan State (South).

 

At the briefing hall, Quar­termaster-General Lt-Gen Zaw Myo Tin reported to the General on the progress of the project, settlement of war veterans, fur­ther plans to settle war veter­ans, and requirements of water and electricity supply.

 

In response, the General gave instructions on the need to take care of the issues of war veterans as they are an impor­tant strength of Tatmadaw, and arrangements for convenient accommodation, food sup­ply and transport for families of the war veterans’ housing, management for cleanliness and beautification of the housing compound, and proper drainage facilities.

 

The General observed the convenience shop in the com­pound of the housing and viewed the training of tailoring for fam­ilies of war veterans. He also re­viewed the completed residen­tial buildings in the compound and the buildings under con­struction. The General cordially greeted war veterans and their families residing at the housing and presented foodstuffs.

 

Yesterday morning, the General and party inspected lo­cal battalions in Ayethaya, Heho and Kalaw stations and cordially greeted families. — MNA/TTA
