SECURITY forces removed a total of 80 improvised explosive devices planted along the Kamma-Myaing road in Pakokku Township, Magway Region, according to official reports.

Acting on information provided by locals, security personnel carried out clearance and security operations on 15 June after detecting that roads used by the public had been targeted with explosive devices.

The devices were reportedly planted by PDF groups along the roadside near Magyeetan village. They included 17 vehicle mines made from oil drum shells, 13 vehicle mines made from plastic containers, eight improvised mines, and 42 improvised directional mines, totalling 80 devices.

All explosives were safely deactivated and removed to prevent harm to civilians and travellers.

Authorities said security operations will continue in coordination with local communities to prevent further threats and to maintain regional stability. — MNA/KZL
